International Proof on the way to me
about 5 years ago – Fri, Mar 15, 2019 at 12:47:46 AM

Very briefly: my contact over at CPI tells me the new international-backer proof is complete, and he checked it out and he found a good binding and no streaking/striations. I'll get it in a few days, and if it's worthy (and it should be! They did a great job with Hall of Judgment) I'll cut the order for those and get them started. Figure a week or two to print and get to Kixto, and then into Royal Mail.

I'll let you know when I know more.

Rest of World Printing - still issues
about 5 years ago – Mon, Mar 11, 2019 at 01:56:44 PM

CPI Anthony Rowe contacted me this morning to let me know they'd re-printed the proof, and were still unhappy with it. Having been made aware of the streaking issue, they looked closely, saw the same thing, and they had a meeting and concluded that the printer itself needs an overhaul.

They're getting it serviced, and won't be satisfied until it's perfect. That's good, if a bit sad for delivery. Even so: once it's done, we'll print 'em and get them out.

As soon as I hear more, I'll let you guys know!

Friday March 8: Mostly expect delivery

Again, for the US backers.

My USPS tracking shows most packages will arrive March 8. Hopefully in good order.

All Domestic orders shipped by end of day

US Orders

I have packed up and put postage on all domestic book orders. They will be dropped off at the post office in an hour or two, and so will go out via Monday's first shipment. Expect them to start arriving Wednesday or Thursday, and if they're not in your hands by March 15, start buggin' me.

The one awesome individual who ordered a shield: it's on my to-do list. It's just COLD here in MN and my workshop is in my garage. The tools (and the tool operator) have difficulty when it's ten below. I will get it to you, and it will be awesome.

Not-the-US Orders

I think I noted that I'd received the proof of the book from the UK, and found several issues. The substitutions for the pages with mistakes weren't completed, and the color images showed significant striations. I know this print shop can do better: they're doing another proof for me, which I should get next week.

The orders - 22 backers for 23 books - that are ONLY for copies of Lost Hall are trivial and will happen quickly. There are two orders that also include copies of Dragon Heresy and Dungeon Grappling, and those are trickier, as I have to get books to the UK as well. I'm working on the best way to do this, and if I can work something out, I will. If I DO work something out, I'll contact you two individually, let you know what's going on, and refund some of the shipping money you paid.

More Torengar/Norðlond

If you're a fan of Norse-style adventures, or if you want more information and an expanded view of the land, come with me: Journey a few hundred miles due east, and visit the Citadel at Norðvorn.

This castle on a hill, and the adjoining town, is the site of much going-on. The book will be at least 96 pages, contain all new art, and is chock full of adventuring goodness...much of it systemless.

The Citadel at Norðvorn (for the Dungeon Fantasy RPG, Powered by GURPS) is on Kickstarter until March 24.

Pretty much what it says.
